Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan Memorial Association formerly known as Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan Memorial Trust is a non-profit organization (NPO) working in the fields of sanitation and solid waste management across Pakistan for over twenty-two years. It was established to spread out community development philosophy of renowned and legendary social scientist, Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan.

Besides expertise in handling solid waste and sanitation models, AHKMA also has the grasp at conducting research studies on solid waste management and imparting trainings to the people from different walks of life. We are here to build sustainable sanitation and solid waste systems not only in the downtrodden areas across the country but urban centers and private housing societies that contribute to clean environments, healthy and happy lives.
As specialists in the solid waste management, Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan Memorial Association in collaboration with donors, partners, government UN Agencies and local communities tries to improve the living standards of local communities by addressing their waste management issues by committing to best practice to ensure cost-effective, safe and environmentally sound methods of solid waste disposal.

The Akhtar Hameed Khan Memorial Association formerly known as Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan Memorial Trust is a company set up under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017. While Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan Memorial Trust was registered in February 2000 (NO. 2863 # 1 Vol. #165 Trust Act 1882) with Sub Registrar Rawalpindi. It is registered as a non-profit organization under the Income Tax Ordinance with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). We are here to build sustainable sanitation and solid waste systems not only in the downtrodden areas across the country but urban centers and private housing societies that contribute to clean environments, healthy and happy lives.
